The Nine harkens back to the good old days of a stronger photographic community. Already in private use for their own photography, co-owners James Carriere and Brandon McGanty opened up the space to the public two years ago in part to provide the experience and enjoyment of a traditional photo studio as it was at the turn of the millennium. They designed and renovated the space utilizing its architectural details to create a great physical environment while keeping it visually very clean for working. The 9,000 square-foot daylight studio offers a large open NYC loft-style floor plan with full kitchen, wood floors, floor-to-ceiling warehouse windows, and a gorgeous light quality from 120' of Northern and 75' of Western exposures. They offer full in-house equipment rental and light set capabilities. "When you rent the Nine you feel like it is your studio," Carriere says.
