A super boutique studio in Los Angeles since 1993, Solar Studios presents vintage, classic looks and modern corners. At 6,175 square feet, Stage 1 offers brilliant natural light with blackout capability, shoot-in kitchen, shoot-in bathroom and cyclorama, allowing photographers to move from scene to scene without leaving the studio. The wooden doors, clear-coat cement and wood floors, brick walls and five arched floor-to-ceiling windows provide inspiration. Also on site, a 12,000-square-foot warehouse for set construction or standing set shots, a second-story loft and a lovely garden. For power, Stage 1 is equipped with 1200 amps, five wire cam locks with two whips. Stage 2, with 600 amps and 2,380 square feet of space, is ideal for castings, still life and portraits, or as a green room. Rental equipment, catering and hair and makeup are available. The variety of looks and production values at Solar proves an ideal creative resource. No job is too big or small for this well-located studio, next to Griffith Park for exteriors, and just south of Burbank for network studio clients. - Studio/Equipment Guide 2012
