Photographer Jeff Lancaster bought this one-time auto garage in 2002, and paid careful attention to its historical details when he renovated it. Originally built in 1923 to service the ever-popular Ford Model T, this 3,200-square-foot historically designated landmark features an 18-foot open-beam barrel roof, drive-in access, full kitchen and lots of natural light. Lancaster maintained the integrity of the building, keeping the exposed brick walls and oversized handcrafted wood doors. The stained concrete floors add to the warm, old-fashioned ambiance of the studio. "I am most proud of being able to keep the historic atmosphere of the place," he says, "yet it still has a clean, contemporary feel." The studio also includes a private 4,000-square-foot yard for secure parking or shooting. 30th Street Garage is available for film, video and still productions, rental equipment is also available. A professional photographer himself, Lancaster understands the importance of flexibility and function in a location.
